Day 7 A cruisey day!

OMG a ridiculously early start to the day, getting up at 330am to ensure that we were in fact ready for the shuttle to pick us up and take us to the airport. We were surprised to see others out and about. There was a party still happening on one of the balconies.

The flight for both of us was basically sleep, but it was quick and smooth enough to do so. The flight itself was 650am, but with all the things going on at the airport it didn't feel like much of a wait. Once we'd touched down it was time for a much needed coffee, before finding the Super Shuttle
collection point.

The driver took us from Miami to Fort Lauderdale, but stopped a couple of times along the way. One girl who was on board the shuttle was a local from Miami and we found it interesting to look at the houses in the burbs. A lot of the houses were close to the road and had different looks to those in our area at home.

The timings of everything for the day worked out brilliantly. Initially when we'd booked, we thought that we wouldn't be able to board when we got there. On the contrary, it was basically straight on once we had checked in. Then straight to lunch.

This cruise ship is out of control massive, too many people compared to our last cruise. They have built the ship to accommodate everyone, but there is definitely queuing for some things. Having said that there are a massive amount of bars and restaurants, so getting a drink or any sort of food is easy!

Today we explored the ship, as we had to wait for our luggage to be loaded. After our first cocktail it was off to the ship evacuation drill, which is mandatory on the first day. It took about 30 minutes but was very easy to take, although at one point both of us were nodding off. We did wake up mega early and only had about 3 hours sleep.

We noticed that the drink prices had gone up a bit so we opted for the premium drinks package, which meant for day one we had some catching up to do! Every drink is at least a double, as the bar staff aren't scared to pour free hand, particularly with straight spirits....more room in the glass compared to cocktails.

We headed out to a really nice dinner with us both starting with escargot. Friggen delicious. Mopping up the garlic sauce with their fresh bread was a taste sensation. Seafood marinara and the Jamiacan flavoured Mojo Pork were our choices for dinner. As Manu Fidel would say "it was melt in your mouth!"

After dinner we kicked up at the casino, coming out in front and in very good spirits / aka 'drunkish' making the most of our drinks package, then it was off to the night club. We danced up for a bit, but got a little disenfranchised with the music choices. It was a bit too gangster for us. We didn't know many of the songs after they'd switched off the mainstream. We decided to head off.

We stopped in at the karaoke, where that was the stark opposite to the nightclub. A couple of the choices were very country and western. We didn't mind the boys' rendition of 'Save a horse, ride a cowboy'. The next choice just wasn't our vibe, so we decided to head back to the casino.

This was our final stop for the night. They got back some of our winnings, but we only ended up $10 down for our two visits to the roulette table. It was hilarious though, as we had a heap of winners on our table with zero double zero split or straight up, two times in a row. We were all really loud, but loved it. We had heaps of fun, then it was time to go back to the room, after a very massive day!
